Data broadcastHorse racingGPS tracking Premiere at the The Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris!

19 October 2020

After its debut with trot in 2018 at the Grand Prix d’Amérique and flat in 2019 with the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, McLloyd’s technology took another major step forward by tracking all of the races during Auteuil’s Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris weekend. The Grand Steeple-Chase, one of the world’s most selective jumps race, was won by DOCTEUR DE BALLON and BERTRAND LESTRADE at the end of the 6000m course.

We would like to thank our partners France Galop and Le Trot for their trust over the last 3 years. With them, we have now taken up the challenge to meet the specificities of all racing disciplines. For hurdles, we have for example integrated the strides (length and number) and precisely referenced the location of the obstacles on the course in order to be able to offer specific animations in production.

With this new challenge, HPv2 proves its reliability in the most difficult conditions (vibration, shock, strong accelerations…) on all racing disciplines. The guaranteed accuracy on hurdles as well as on flat and trot, shows McLloyd HPv2 is now the reference sensor that tracks the world’s greatest races.

Tracking insights of #GSCP

DOCTEUR DE BALLON, the winner, has ran the second shortest course “real distance” with 5930.25m VS 5949.70m for FIGUERO, 2nd at the post. He has the highest maximum speed of the race (58,39 km/h), reached during the last 1000m. He ran almost all the race in the 11th and 10th position, and was still in the 7th position at 1000m before the post and at the 6th position at the the penultimate obstacle. What a finish !
