Below is the press release from France Galop of January 18, 2021 (translated from french).
France Galop and its partner McLloyd announce the national deployment of the race tracking solution on Premium, Flat and Obstacle racetracks, from January 2021. All Premium meetings will be tracked from the beginning of February 2021. France will thus be the first country to offer such broad coverage.
This technology, validated since 2019 at the ParisLongchamp, Chantilly, Deauville and Auteuil racetracks, is being deployed at 44 Premium racetracks in the territory and will allow the analysis of nearly 600 Galop meetings per year.
With this in mind, the first two successful commissionings have just been carried out on January 14 and 15, 2021 during the meetings in Lyon-La Soie and Marseille Vivaux, followed today by Cagnes-sur-Mer. From this month of January, tracking will be extended to the racecourses of Pau and Mont-de-Marsan.
After several years of study, McLloyd has developed a small case for the Gallop races to adapt to the specific constraints of flat and obstacle courses. The unparalleled precision of this miniaturized sensor allows the races to be fully experienced live, from the start to the finish line. Live and replay build-up, with the order of the competitors and the instantaneous speed of the lead horse, is available on the screens of Equidia. It is also made available to racetracks and operators. At the end of the race, the report of the data of the race and of each horse is posted on the France Galop site and indicated by a pictogram.
